Course curriculum
As class XI serves as the base for commerce therefore the emphasis in class XI is placed on developing basic concepts and process of accounting.
As per CBSE guidelines, the course has been divided into 3 parts:
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING PART - 1 | 55 Marks |
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING PART - 2 | 35 Marks |
PROJECT WORK | 10 Marks |
PART-1
This part will give students the basic knowledge about objective, advantages and limitations of accounting in the modern economic environment. It also explains the various terms used in accounting, the students will also learn about Goods and Service Tax (GST) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
PART-2
In this part students will learn completely new things such as balance sheet, gross profits, net profits etc. after going through this part a student will be able to prepare Trading and Profit and Loss Account and Balance Sheet of a sole proprietor.
PROJECT WORK
Keeping in mind the practical implications of theoretical knowledge CBSE introduced a 10 marks project in accounting which will help students in better understanding of the concepts and will also give them a wider scope/ horizon to introduce themselves to a completely new world. To make project work enjoyable students can choose from various topics of their choice.
